The Kitchen

Mari grinned. "To Sam's room then!"

Sam grinned and followed.

Jean opened the door cautiously. "Hello? I'm told...I'm told I'm supposed to come here?"

Sam smiled at her, coming down from her own room. "Hey, Jean. if you're a super, you're in the right place. well, a hero that is."

Mari and Mal had been sitting at the table, going over the newest formula for the zombie problem. Mari rubbed her ear. "State your name and powers please."

Sam sighed. "She can tell if you're a super, and her ear will ring until you tell her your name. You don't have to tell her your powers, but we're all curious."

Jean gasped. "Really? That's so cool. Well, I'm Jean D'Arc. What's your name? And I know you, Sam."

Sam shrugged. "Yeah, I know."

Glancing at Mari and Mal, she said, "She's the new history teacher. I heard they're going to get all kinds of new teachers."

Then looking at Maria again and smiling. "Jon forgot that we were going to go to lunch, so I talked to Jean before I gave up and had it without him."

Mari looked up. "Thank the gods!" she said rubbing her ear. "I'm Marisol Gallagher, but, please, call me Mari. Marisol makes me feel old."

Mal leaned over. "Mom, you are old."

Mari smacked her daughter lightly. "Typical Jon..."

Sam shrugged. "I figured, next time, I'd tell you and you could force him out of his office and lab things. If nothing else, I'd go pick him up next time. I just had a student conference for a few minutes during the first part of lunch, so I wanted to meet him at the school. he didn't come."

She looked at Jean. "I can teleport, and I can control temperatures. I'm not fire or ice really, I can just warm up or cool down anything."

Mari raised an eyebrow. "Me? Able to force Jon to do something out side the lab?" she started laughing hysterically.

Mal, apparently used to this, shrugged and continued working.

Sam shrugged. "Well, a blanket barrier would stop him from working, and I am nearly positive that you can do it somehow."

Jean perked up. "Who's this Jon?"

Mari looked over. "He's my brother... Sam's fiancee."

Sam blushed at the word fiancee. "Yup, His name is Jonathan Gallagher, he's a scientist."

Jean smiled. "What's he like?"

Mari grinned. "Geeky. He's my twin brother... So, as well as I know him, best ask Sam here."

Jean laughed. "Sam?" She nudged the woman in question. "What's he like?"

Mari grinned. "Yeah... I've been curious about those two weeks you were gone?" She smirked. "I know you guys came back fian--" Mari's face blanched. She got up from the table and puked in the garbage. "Dammit..." she muttered, wiping her mouth. "Morning sickness... I bet Blake can't wait 'til I have cravings."

Sam started laughing. "Ok, bye, I'm gonna go talk to Jon. he should be here."

Mari reached out a hand and grabbed Sam's arm. "You find him... I kill you. Call Blake..."

Mal had managed to slip away from her mother-in-the-past and run to find Jamie.

Sam sighed. "Why?"

"Because... Just do i--" she started, but puked again. "It. Get Blake. He's going to suffer this with me."

Sam shrugged and grabbed her phone before she left.

Jean looked between Mari, who was puking, and Sam, who was leaving, then followed Sam.
