The Training Room

The Heroes' Training Room.

Similar to the Danger Room of the X-Mansion, a room where the heroes can hone their powers and skills.

To stop the room from killing you, just say the safe word: "Jelly Donuts."

Mal was leaned up against Jamie, glaring at her uncle.

"What?" he asked, totally oblivious as to what he just mentioned.

She started to say something and said, "No, you know what, screw it. Let's train."

Both Jamie's and Lynda's hands started glowing. They looked at each other and nodded. "Ready."

Mal formed a barrier under her that lifted her up and away. "Let's go!" she shouted down, picking up a piece of rock with her mind and throwing at her boyfriend, her best friend and her uncle.

Jon had formed his shadow hands and was making shapes with shadows in a corner.

Mal noticed. "Hey! Uncle Jon!"

He looked up in time to see a giant rock being hurled at his head.

Jamie and Lynda shared a grin. Moments later, the room was raining red and blue plasmoids.

Mal was dodging the plasmoids thrown in her direction, as was Jon. The plasmoids created more light, which equaled shadows. A big T-Rex, later his signature piece, lunged towards Jamie and Lynda.

A barrier shaped as a human was pounding the plasmoids tossed at it into nothingness.

Lynda teleported at the blink of an eye. She threw plamoids at Jon's direction.

Jamie ran and was behind Jon in a heart beat.

"You have to be faster than that!"

Jon spun around, a barrier of shadows surrounding him, but not on top.

Mal smirked and nodded to Jamie and Lynda. She hoveren not ten feet above them. "They're right. You will have to be faster than that..."

The barrier shaped like a human floated beside Mal, and started to beat the barriers.

Jon glared at his niece. "What? This isn't fair! Three to one?!"

Mal shrugged. "All fair's in love an war, Uncle Jon."

Sam opened the door, then glared at them. "OK. That quote it ancient. And, 3 on one is mean." She turned and started to help him, trying to put up barriers of frozen air around his own, and trying to stop the plasmoids with the frozen air, while teleporting out of the way of those she couldn't stop.

Mal shook her head. "That's where you're wrong, Aunt Sam." The barrier fist turned on her aunt.

Sam ducked, simultaneously teleporting to the other side of the room and turning up the heat of the air around them- it was uncomfortable, but not burning.

Mal shrugged. Her aunt thought she could get her uncomfortable. Ha! She had trained with Sam for this very thing!

Sam frowned and increased the heat- it'd burn them soon, they'd have to do something.

Mal kept flying.

Jon was sweating profusely. "Sam! Turn it down!"

Jamie kept on running around. "You know, there is this breeze, when you run really fast. So heat doesn't slow me down!" He threw more plasmoids at Sam.

Lynda teleported out. She teleported back in, stuck her tongue out and teleported out.

Mal laughed. "Lynnie! Take me with you! Let's leave these two love birds to it!"

Jon choked on a laugh at Jamie. "Lovebirds?!"

Jamie appeared behind Mal. "What is that suppose to mean?"

But before she could answer, Jamie ran and threw a plasmoid at Jon.

Sam raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that you and Jamie?" She asked Mal, before she fired a stream of superheated air, that burst into flames for a sec, at Jamie, to stop him. She froze walls around him, then glared. "OK. No lovebird comments."

Mal grinned and whispered to Jamie, "Remember? Uncle Jon and Aunt Sam are married?"

She turned to her aunt and formed a barrier around her. "There we go..."

Sam's face went pale. "What?!"

She stopped, shocked.

Mal grinned. She loved this.

Jon turned white and fell to the floor in a faint.

Sam couldn't move, then she felt the barrier. Heating up the air around Mal, she suddenly froze it, to distract her, then Sam moved, grabbing Jon and setting him behind the frozen air, before she threw more hot air at Mal, hoping to confuse her with the shifts in temperature.

Mal shrugged it off. "Nice try, Auntie. But you didn't train us for nothing."

Sam sighed. "That's unfair. you're used to what I can throw at you, but I'm stuck unsure of what to do to stop you." She sat down by Jon. "Suddenly, it's unfair again."

Jon woke up. "Married?!" he spluttered. "We're married?!"

Mal nodded. "Yup! As married as Mom and Dad."
