The Seaton Home

It's where Mal grew up, with her parents, Mari and Blake Seaton. Mari Seaton is still the head of JGMH.

Lynda, and Jamie are frequent visitors along with their father, James Picket and Mari's brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Sam Gallagher.

The inside looks nothing like the Watchtower did. It looks more like Mari's childhood home.

Phil and Harry walked in, motioning for Rune to follow. "Ma!" Phil called. "We go' someun t' see ya!"

"Someone to see you!" Mari called walking into the living room.

Rune chuckled. "So, you didn't get that accent from your parents, then?" she asked in her own, equally thick accent.

She was glad of the distraction.

Mari grinned. "Hello! I'm Mari Gallagher. Who are you, if I may ask?" She turned to Phil. "Do we need to get you back into speech therapy?"

Phil blanched. "No, Ma! Don' make me do tha'!"

Mari raised an eyebrow at her youngest. "Hi, Harry," she said. "How's your mother?"

"She's good."

"My name is Rune," Rune said, sticking out her hand for the woman to shake.

Mari shook it. "What did Phil do to you?" Mari asked, leading the young peoples in her life into the kitchen. "Cookie? My own recipe?"

Phil and Harry decended on Mari's cookies like hyenas on a dead zebra.

Rune nibbled on one. "Phil's been very nice actually." She held up her cookie. "These are really marvelous."

So this was the woman who shot Lisa. She didn't seem the type and somehow... she did.

Mari raised an eyebrow. "Phillipa is notorious for getting people, especially Mal and Lyn in trouble.

Harry noticed the haunted look in his aunt's eyes. It was the day of Lisa's death about 20 years ago.

It was the anniversary of Lisa's death, when she had shot her best friend. She smiled slightly, a pained smile.

Phil frowned, her hands glowing slightly purple.

Rune raised her eyes about the purple hands, but didn't mention it. Instead, she asked about Mari's mood. "What's wrong?"

Cobra looked back on the world she had lived in. The world Lady Lustre had abandoned. The world she'd then gone on to destroy as Lacklustre. Cobra took a deep breath. "Well, you can't destroy something that's alrady been destoryed," she said, before straightening and leaving the so-called heroes forever. If they were all going to be reviled, she might as well be on the side that got paid.

Rune shook her head, and focused on Mari again. Nothing for weeks and suddenly three in one day.

Mari shook her head. "It's the day a very dear friend of mine died." "At my hand..." she thought morosely.

Phil's hands glowed even brighter, as she unsuccessfully tried to conceal them from her mother.

"Philipa Seaton..." Mari said, a different glow to her eyes. "You got your powers. Your poor father..."

"', no' th' on'y one..." Phil muttered, showing her hands to her mother. "Th'y're like Lynnie's 'n' Jamie's plasmoids... bu' no' really."

Harry hid his own hands. He really needed to learn how to control it. Mari spotted that too.

"Lisa?" Rune asked, interrupting their conversation. She thought about all her new Visions, and what in the world was going on. "Who's Cobra?"

Rune only knew it was something big, something really big.

What she didn't know was if it was happening now or... then.

Mari stiffened. "Now, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time... She was a hero, who, after Lisa Prince-Picket died, joined the villains. I haven't seen her since. Her powers were some of the most interesting. That and Gooey. Rose, that's Cobra, could turn into a cobra." She smiled slightly. "Let's go to the living room, why don't we? We'll be more comfortable."

Phil rolled her eyes at her cousin. "Hare... 'm bored..."

Harry grinned. "Phil, you're always bored."

Rune raised her eyebrows at the girl. "You're bored? I'm certaintly not. I've gotten three Visions in one day. This is the most interesting day I've had in months."

Mari raised an eyebrow. "That's your power then, huh? A Seer? I've never met a Seer." She turned to her daughter. "Phil, apologize to our guest."

"S'rry..." she muttered, reaching for a cookie.

Harry smirked. "See? Told you, Phil."

Phil stuck her tongue out at Harry. Mari glared at her. "Philipa Seaton!"

Rune raised her eyebrows. "There's nothing to 'pologize for!"

Phil turned to her mother. "See, Ma! Tol' ya!"

Mari shook her head. "I try and teach them manners and see what happens?"

Harry snorted. "I'm so glad you're my aunt, and not my mother..."

Rune grinned and laughed out loud. "Don't worry 'bout it. She didn't do nothin' a-purpose." Rune clapped her hand over her mouth. "Great! Now I'm startin' to talk like ye!" She swallowed. "Starting to talk like you."

Mari laughed. "You know who you remind me of," she started. "George's way of speaking on Song of the Lioness. Jeez those books are old... I feel old..."

"Ma, you are old."

Rune looked up. "I read those books! George is my favorite character!"

Mari grinned. "I have the originals, signed by Tammy Pierce. My brother never saw what I saw in those books. It's was funny when I told him what happened to Thom. Considering that, like Alanna and Thom, we're fraternal twins who look almost exactly alike but for the length of hair..." She shrugged. "George is pretty cool, but I always favored Jon for her. Especially if Jon wasn't the Prince, it would have been better."
